Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel expressed on Thursday that the club’s new striker, Harry Kane, is already well on his way to becoming a resounding success. Since his high-profile transfer from Tottenham, Kane has notched three goals and contributed to another in his three Bundesliga appearances.
Tuchel informed reporters ahead of Friday’s match against early league leaders Bayer Leverkusen, “Given his personality and style of play, he’s precisely the player we require. Currently, we’re working to integrate him more into our gameplay. We’re confident it will be a remarkable success story. We’re extremely pleased with his performance.”
While Tuchel confirmed Kane’s participation against Leverkusen, he noted that captain Joshua Kimmich’s availability was uncertain due to a muscle concern picked up during international duty. Kimmich sat out Germany’s 2-1 friendly victory over France, their first win since March.
However, Tuchel announced that Jamal Musiala, recently named Bayern’s player of the season for 2022-23, would rejoin the squad after recovering from a back issue. On the other hand, goalkeeper Manuel Neuer faced a setback in his return from a leg injury. Tuchel revealed that the German captain was dealing with a calf problem. He remarked, “Manu was very close, but then he had a calf problem in his other leg. He’s doing some running work but we’re taking all the necessary precautions.”
Both Leverkusen and Bayern are the sole Bundesliga teams to have secured nine points from three games this season.
