PDP state officers defect to APC in Yobe -GCFRNG
Some state officials and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports the Nigerian News Agency (NAN).
Those who joined the APC included the state vice president of the PDP, Alhaji Usman Amale, and the undersecretary, Malam Ahmadu Biriri.
The defectors were greeted at the APC on Tuesday in Damaturu by Governor Mai Mala Buni, who is also the chairman of the APC Extraordinary Convention of Caregivers.
Mala Buni thanked them for being part of the movement to save Nigeria.
“APC is now a movement that aims for the unity, progress and development of Nigeria.
“We welcome high-profile Nigerians from all walks of life, of different backgrounds, cultures, religions, and geopolitical backgrounds.
“The solution to the problems facing Nigeria lies in the political stability of the country; we should all come together to promote our unity for development, ”said Mala Buni.
He assured the defectors equal rights and opportunities like any other member to contribute to the development of Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, the former vice president of the PDP said they had no reason to remain in the PDP and apologized for the delay.
“In fact, we had no reason to be in the PDP because our APC leader and president needs support for political stability in Nigeria,” Amale said.
He congratulated the governor for his selfless contribution to the growth and development of Nigeria and said that “we are very proud and we are obliged to support him.
