“You will remember that we had already held district and local government congresses in this state before. The result of the congresses was appealed and later validated and ratified by the party’s CCECP.

“Just a few minutes ago, we swore in the leadership at the local government level because the Provisional Committee of the State Executive Council had been dissolved.”

“For emphasis, tomorrow’s APC Congress will be held at MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, not anywhere else. Any other presumed or supposed election is, therefore, a nullity ”, he emphasized.

According to Ohu, the clarification was made necessary because he had been inundated with calls, texts and physical inquiries about exercise and hints that other people are planning to have another choice. Can not be. Anything other than the one we are carrying out is anti-party because we have all the materials: congressional eligibility record, ballots and ballot boxes, results sheets, party seal and authority. No other person or group of people has the CCECP to hold elections or congresses in the state of Ogun tomorrow ”.

He also said that his committee has invited the security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to monitor the exercise.

Ohu urged the party faithful to behave with decorum and peace throughout the exercise, saying that “everyone knows the state of Ogun for its civility, peace and high level of political enlightenment.”

Hon. Ohu presented the entire 7-member team from APC headquarters in Abuja with the responsibility of leading the Congress in Ogun State and assured all APC members of a credible, free, fair and transparent process.

He further said that participants in the congress will include five delegates elected at the District Congress held on July 31, 2021, as ratified by the Party’s Provisional / Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee.

Others expected in Congress, in addition to those elected in the neighborhood congress, include statutory delegates as stipulated in the party constitution and guidelines for the congress.

The statutory delegates are made up of members of the State Trustees, the State President and members of the State Executive Committee, the State Governor and his alternate; all current and former members of the National Assembly who are members of the party; all service members and former members of the State Legislative Assembly who are members of the party; all elected local government area presidents, their deputies and councilors who are elected in the 20 LGAs that are party members.

The rest are party presidents and secretaries in the LGAs; and members of the State Zonal Executive Committee. He added that political appointees, if not elected as delegates, can attend as observers.
