Apple is gearing up to unveil its latest offering, the iPhone 15, at an event dubbed ‘Wonderlust’ today, with sales projected to commence from September 22nd.
The event is slated to take place at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, and will be livestreamed on their website.
Notably, the iPhone 15 is anticipated to introduce a USB-C charging port for the first time, marking a departure from the customary updates seen in previous iPhone releases, which typically focused on battery life, camera enhancements, and display improvements.
This shift to USB-C charging aligns with a directive from the European Union, which mandates that small devices like smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, and portable speakers must support USB-C charging by 2024.
Reports further suggest that the iPhone 15 will feature a “Dynamic Island” – an interactive hub for alerts, notifications, and various controls – that will replace the notch at the top of the screen. This feature debuted on the premium iPhone 14 Pro models released last year.
In terms of aesthetics, the iPhone 15 is expected to be available in an array of colors, including navy, gray, white, and silver.
