FAAN trains 121 aviation security personnel -GCFRNG
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says it has completed the training of 121 aviation security officers.
This is contained in a statement from FAAN’s General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Ms. Henrietta Yakubu, on Saturday in Lagos.
Yakubu said the security officers came from Abuja, Maiduguri, Yola, Jos, Gombe, Dutse and Sokoto.
Others came from the airports of Zaria, Kaduna, Kebbi, Makurdi and Katsina.
She said the staff went through the mandatory six-week Basic Safety Training Program 123 course, which was both intellectual and physical.
According to her, “Some of the topics covered during the course include an overview of legislation, access control, people and vehicles, airport emergency (Basic fire prevention).
Others were review procedures, interpretation of X-ray images, effective communication, protection of parked aircraft, cargo and mail security, and first aid training, among others.
Yakubu said: “In accordance with the requirements of the National Civil Aviation Security Training Program (NCASTP), all trainees achieved 70% approval before graduation.
