The Kaduna state government led by Governor Nasir el-Rufai has said it has no plans to close communications in the state.
This was stated in a statement issued by Muyiwa Adekeye, Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication on Tuesday in Kaduna.
According to the statement, the government has not yet made such a decision, nor is it the level of such a plan.
“The Kaduna state government has not reached out to any federal agency to request a telephone shutdown, and there is no law or regulation to close communications.”

He called on the residents to ignore the rumors saying that this is a fake story that some people want to prove to be true by putting the KDSG logo on their false statements.
“The Kaduna state government is issuing a security statement. If the closure of telecoms is deemed necessary, this decision will be announced in a well-signed statement in government information management, ”he said.
