According to reports, Zachary Nmaduka, the Director General of the Labour Party (LP) candidate for the 2023 National Assembly election in Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon. Amobi Oga, has been tragically killed by unidentified gunmen. Details about the incident were limited at the time of reporting, but it was learned that the assailants not only shot and attacked the 70-year-old man but also decapitated him before leaving his body in a wooded area.
The spokesperson for the Abia state police command, Maureen Chinaka, issued a statement on September 14, 2023, stating: “On September 13, 2023, at approximately 8:30 pm, the DPO Uturu Police division received discreet information about the unfortunate murder of Hon. Zachary Nmaduka, also known as Power Zack M, a 70-year-old native of Ezieke Akpukpa Utur.” She continued, “Mr. Nmaduka was violently attacked, shot, and beheaded by unidentified assailants while he was at a drinking joint in Amelechi Akpukpa community.”
Chinaka further reported that upon receiving this distressing information, a combined team of police and army personnel swiftly responded to the scene. Unfortunately, they discovered Mr. Nmaduka’s lifeless body. Photographic evidence was documented at the site, and the deceased’s remains were promptly taken to Marist Mortuary Uturu. The investigation into the incident is currently underway.
