COVID-19: FG releases revised int’l travel protocol -GCFRNG
As part of efforts to mitigate the importation of the Delta variant of COVID-19, the Federal Government has released a revised travel protocol to Nigeria as of Monday, October 25, 2021.
The chairman of the PSC Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 and Federation Government Secretary Boss Mustapha revealed this in a statement issued Friday night in Abuja.
According to him, “Travelers arriving in Nigeria must submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test performed no more than 72 hours before boarding.”
He added that unvaccinated and partially vaccinated incoming passengers will be required to observe a mandatory 7-day self-isolation in addition to a COVID-19 PCR test on days 2 and 7 after arrival.
“Fully vaccinated incoming passengers will not be required to observe the mandatory 7-day self-isolation, but will need to perform a COVID-19 PCR test on day 2 of arrival.
“Persons arriving on a ‘business’ trip or on official duty and staying less than 7 days in Nigeria must be fully vaccinated, produce a negative COVID-19 PCR result 72 hours prior to boarding; and perform a PCR test on day 2 of your arrival.
“It will be recalled that PSC President Boss Mustapha had promised during the national briefing that a revised travel protocol would be published. The protocol review is based on science, national experience and global developments, ”the statement added.
