Barcelona Name New Manager After Ronald Koeman Dismissal -GCFRNG

Sergi Barjuan will be in charge of Barcelona’s first team until a substantial appointment is made.

Sergi, who is a former Barcelona player, has been running the club’s B team prior to his new appointment.

The Nou Camp Xavi legend has already been touted as a possible permanent replacement for Koeman.

Barcelona have confirmed the appointment of Sergi Barjuan as interim manager following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman.

Koeman was shown the door on Wednesday, October 27, shortly after Barça’s shocking 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.

The disappointing result left the Catalan club in ninth place in the standings with 15 points from 10 games.

According to The Sun, Camp Nou legend Xavi is poised to take over permanently once Barça reaches a deal with Al-Sadd, whom the former player currently manages.

However, in the meantime, B-team boss Barjuan has been appointed interim boss, and Barcelona have revealed that his contract will end immediately after a permanent replacement is announced.

Barcelona announce that Sergi Barjuan, current Barça B coach, will provisionally take over the technical direction of the absolute squad, “Barcelona said in a statement.”

His interim position as first team coach will end as soon as the club has hired a full-time head coach to replace the dismissed Ronald Koeman, “the statement added.

Barjuan spent 14 years with the La Liga giants as a player, working in the youth ranks before making his way to the senior team.

He then made 382 appearances for the club before ending his career with rivals Atlético de Madrid. Previously, he managed the Barcelona youth teams before taking over Almería and Mallorca.

Later, in 2019, he would return to the Camp Nou after being appointed coach of team B.

Previously, Gcfrng.com former Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernández is about to return to Camp Nou, but this time as a manager following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman.

Although there are no official statements from the club, several reports assure that Xavi has been contacted to assume the managerial position at the Camp Nou.

Koeman was shown the door as Barcelona coach following a run of poor results this season after they suffered another embarrassing loss to Rayo Vallecano in their week 11 La Liga match, losing 1-0.

The Blaugrana lost their fourth game in six games in all competitions and the club believes it is time to get Koeman out of trouble.

The 58-year-old spent 14 months at the Camp Nou and was only able to win the Copa del Rey last season in addition to finishing third in the league.

He is currently ninth in LaLiga after a lousy start to the season, a streak of form that ended Koeman’s 14 months as head coach.
