Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has officially opened three new roads in Aba. He pledged that his administration will continue to facilitate opportunities for global private investors in the state’s bustling commercial hub. Addressing the audience at the inauguration of Phase 1 of the Cemetery Market Road in Aba, Otti emphasized the clarity of his vision for the city. He affirmed that his government is making strategic investments with a view to generating widespread positive impacts on both the economic and social aspects of residents’ lives.
During the commissioning event, Governor Otti was accompanied by his Deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu, as well as senior members of his cabinet. The newly commissioned roads include Phase 1 of Cemetery Road, Shalom Road, and Emelogu Road. Speaking on behalf of the contracting firms, Engr. Ifeanyi Okorie from Rock Result Group expressed that the road projects, initiated in early July, have significantly eased traffic for commuters in this area. He assured that the newly constructed roads are built to endure for the next half-century.
The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Don Oti, encouraged those benefiting from the roads to reciprocate the government’s gesture by taking responsibility for maintaining the roads, keeping them clear of litter and preventing drainage blockages. He emphasized the critical importance of prioritizing road infrastructure for the administration.
Upon his arrival, the governor was warmly received by a diverse crowd comprising traders, traditional leaders, representatives from transport unions, and loyal party members from the state.
