The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed 23 bills and 74 resolutions between June 2019 when the current 7th Assembly was inaugurated and now.
Of the 23 bills passed, 18 have been signed into law by Governor Ahmeadu Fintiri.
Speaker of the Assembly, Aminu Abbas, made the disclosures on Tuesday when the Assembly resumed plenary after two months of a recess forced by striking Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN).
Addressing members of the Assembly who were incidentally marking the end of the first two years of inauguration and beginning of a new legislative year, the speaker recalled that the lawmakers introduced 41 bills and unanimously passed 23, while the remaining 21 are currently undergoing legislative processes.
The speaker welcomed the lawmakers to the new legislative year and urged them to redouble their effort to provide robust representation to the people of their respective constituencies.
The 25-member Adamawa State House of Assembly is almost evenly constituted by governing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), with the PDP producing 13 members to APC’s 12.
The speaker who is of the PDP had at an event at the weekend thanked the opposition members for cooperating with him and the Executive arm run by Governor Fintiri.
