The prayers offered by winners on the television show, Hitlist ‘N’ Cruzin, have been sustaining the show and the crew over the past 12 years, TV producer Mursty Adinoyi says.
In a recent chat, Mursty said, “Sometime, when you take winners on cruising (shopping), you see the joy on their faces. Some even pray for us. Those prayers mean a lot to me. I believe those prayers are working. Some programmes started before us and they are nowhere to be found today. There were those that started before us, which are no longer running. And here we are waxing stronger. It means those prayers are working. There was this particular woman in Ibadan whom we took on cruising. After cruising/shopping, she took us to her church where they prayed for us.”
The producer further revealed that against all odds, harsh business climates, insecurity, and even COVID-19 pandemic, his flagship programme, Hitlist ‘N’ Cruzin is waxing stronger.
On how he managed to produce his programme in the thick of the pandemic, Mursty said: “What we did was to dedicate a vehicle each to a crew member who was on duty. Before the pandemic, we used to go to the winner’s house to pick him or her for shopping. But with COVID-19, the programme had to change. We don’t go to winner’s house any longer. What we do now is that we call the winner and ask for his or her shopping list. We then do the shopping and drop the package in their house.”
