The Militants say they’re coming back – Igbinedion students

Published

on

Earlier today, news broke out that ex-militants invaded Igbinedion University, Okada, as early as 5am. They  destroyed cars and attacked people with matchets. Several of the male students were injured and they also blocked the main gate of the school so no one could come in or go out.

The cause of the attack hasn’t been established yet, but eventually they left the school premises. However, it does appear as if they are going to reinforce.

GCFRNG has spoken to a student of the institution, who will not be named for security purposes.

“I was safe from the attacks because I don’t stay on campus,” she said. “But apparently, I need to leave for Benin as soon as possible. The militants have said they’re coming back and students are even taking bush paths to escape out of school” the student said.
