As part of its effort to bring back the loss value of culture in Okun land, the apex socio- economic organisation in Ogidi, Ijumu Local Government of Kogi state will organise the maiden beauty pageant, ‘Sisi – Asa’ to mark its annual Ogidi Day 2019.
The Coordinator of the event, Mr. Mathias Ayodeji Peter (Mapel) while speaking with Journalists in Lokoja said the aim of the event, which is in conjunction with Ogidi Development Association, is to bring together all the youths at home and in diaspora to revive the cultural values of Okun kingdom.
Mapel stated that event will go along way to bring back the loss value of culture in Okun kingdom adding that the pageant is open to ladies in Okun land who fall within the age bracket of 18 to 25 years in Okun kingdom.
The event which is a part of activities to mark the annual Ogidi Day will hold on the 14th June, 2019 at the Ogidi Township Hall. The pageantry will feature dance competition, questions and answers on Okun culture, rapping and lots more.
Mapel appealed to ladies in Okun land to participate in the maiden edition as various prizes will be doled out to winners pointing out that the winner will sit with the Okun Royal fathers.
He commended Ogidi Development Union for their financial and moral support to make the event successful.
